Statement on the shootings in Seattle’s Queen Anne and Brighton neighborhoods
The Alliance for Gun Responsibility released the following statement on the shootings in Seattle’s Queen Anne and Brighton neighborhoods:
“Our thoughts are with the victims’ families, communities and first responders, as they deal with the aftermath of these senseless tragedies. We know that domestic violence can quickly turn deadly if a firearm is involved. In the case of the shooting in Queen Anne, a woman has lost her life.
In the past few days, there have been several reports of gun violence in Seattle and across the state. Another young woman was shot from a moving car in South Seattle and is now in the hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The impact of gun violence reverberates long past the shooting itself, and our communities are far too familiar with its devastating impact. We must work together to reduce violence in our communities to prevent yet another tragedy.”
