The Alliance for Gun Responsibility Victory Fund announces its endorsement of 28 candidates for the 2019 primary election. More candidates sought an endorsement from the Alliance than ever before.

JOE MCDERMOTT – Joe McDermott is a gun violence prevention champion. His innovative leadership and dedication to reducing gun violence is unmatched. The Alliance is proud to endorse his re-election to the King County Council.

MIKE NELSON – Mike Nelson has earned our support through his hard, consistent, and committed efforts to lead the way on gun violence prevention in Edmonds and in our state. We are proud to support Mike Nelson as the next Mayor of Edmonds.
ANGELA BIRNEY – Council President Birney understands that gun violence is a public health crisis and has supported this work from her position on the Board of Health. She has led community engagement opportunities to reduce gun violence and is our choice for Mayor of Redmond.
BEN STUCKART – Council President Ben Stuckart is a committed leader on gun violence prevention. Stuckart has shown his commitment to reducing gun violence in Spokane and to improving the implementation of existing law to help keep our communities safe.

 


BREEAN BEGGS – Councilmember Beggs is a committed champion of safer communities. We endorse Councilmember Beggs’ run for Council President and believe he would work hard to save lives through local investments in gun violence prevention.

ALICIA CRANK – Alicia Crank fights for victims and survivors of violence in her daily life, and she would bring that experience and knowledge to the Edmonds City Council where she will be a champion of gun violence prevention measures.
SUSAN PAINE – Susan Paine has been a career advocate within the judicial system for victims on violence. She has earned our endorsement for Edmonds city council position 6.
LAURA JOHNSON – Laura Johnson has fought for stronger gun laws in our state for years, volunteering and driving community activism forward. Her history of commitment and activism has earned her our endorsement.

 


JAMILA TAYLOR – Jamila Taylor will use her professional experience to advocate for evidence-based programs to prevent gun violence in Federal Way. We proudly endorse Jamila Taylor for Federal Way city council.
KATHERINE FESTA – Katherine Festa has earned our support for election to the Federal Way City Council; Festa is committed to being a champion for gun violence prevention.

LISA HERBOLD – Councilmember Herbold’s efforts to fund community programs and use strong, data-backed practices to prevent gun violence have helped make our city safer. Her work on the council has earned her our endorsement as she campaigns for re-election.
TAMMY MORALES – Tammy Morales is a thoughtful and committed leader, with a track record of community engagement and working to prevent violence in South Seattle. She understands the complex, multifaceted causes of gun violence in our communities, and is positioned to champion gun violence prevention on the Seattle City Council.
DAN STRAUSS – While other candidates running for office in the 6th district have a track-record of supporting common-sense gun laws, Dan Strauss has a history of leadership working to prevent gun violence. .. Dan’s work within Olympia, in City Hall, and with the Alliance for Gun Responsibility has proven that he will make sure gun violence prevention is a priority for the Seattle City Council. We are proud to endorse Dan Strauss for Seattle City Council.
