CEO Renée Hopkins Finalist for Professional Women in Advocacy’s 2019 Excellence in Advocacy Awards
SEATTLE, WA – Alliance for Gun Responsibility CEO, Renée Hopkins is a finalist for the Professional Women in Advocacy’s 2019 Excellence in Advocacy Awards in the excellence in a state issue campaign category.
“This recognition is so well deserved,” said Meredith Goldstein, Alliance for Gun Responsibility Foundation board president. “Renée has been tireless in her dedication to reducing the epidemic of gun violence in our communities. Under her leadership, the Alliance for Gun Responsibility has passed groundbreaking legislation, ensured effective implementation of our gun laws, and made Washington state a leader in gun violence prevention.”
Professional Women in Advocacy brings together women across the country working in all aspects of government relations and public affairs including political engagement, lobbying, communications, fundraising, law, campaigns, and activism. The organization’s annual awards are the only to recognize women advocates.
This year, there were 81 nominees for the awards. The Excellence in a State Issue Campaign was the most competitive category with 18 nominees. Peer judges, women working in government relations, advocacy and public affairs, narrowed down the list to just three finalists in each category.
The final awardees will be announced at the Excellence in Advocacy Reception and Awards on Monday, October 21st in Washington, DC.
