SEATTLE, WA – The Alliance for Gun Responsibility issued the following statement in response to the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. 

“We have lost a giant,” said Renée Hopkins, CEO of the Alliance for Gun Responsibility. “There is no doubt that we are a stronger and safer country thanks to Justice Ginsburg. She dedicated her life to fighting for justice and inspired countless people to follow in that pursuit. In the face of gun lobby attempts to undermine commonsense gun violence prevention laws, she was an unwavering champion of reason. It is hard to overstate the implications her passing could have on the future of gun safety in the United States. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell must follow his own rule and honor Justice Ginsburg’s fervent wish that she not be replaced until a new president is elected.”
