The Seattle Times: Truth needle: Gun-rights ad misrepresents law enforcement
Joseph O’Sullivan of The Seattle Times reports:
A TV ad run by the Protect Our Gun Rights campaign in support of Initiative 591 touts its endorsement by the Washington Council of Police & Sheriffs (WACOPS) and scrolls the names of law-enforcement associations that are WACOPS members, implying that they endorse I-591.

Jamie Daniels, executive director of WACOPS, told us that the organization had asked the Protect Our Gun Rights campaign to remove the scrolling list — back in August.

So while it is true WACOPS endorsed I-591, both the organization and several of its member groups say their information has been used without permission. And several associations listed in the Protect Our Gun Rights TV ad say they did not endorse the initiative, despite what the ad implies.
