Seattle P-I: Murray-O’Toole: Trying to do four years’ work in six months

“We are behind so many states in sensible gun control,” Murray responded.  He began to talk about Initiative 594, the background-check measure on Washington’s November ballot.  Pass the initiative and “build on that,” said the mayor.

“Gay marriage was like guns.  It was a cultural issue,” added Murray.   He said Seattle has to “open a dialogue” with areas elsewhere in the state that have different views.
