Gun violence ‘has to stop somewhere,’ mother of Freeman shooting victim testifies
“A proposed ban on high-capacity magazines would not have saved Sam Strahan in the September 2017 shooting at Freeman High School, but other students are probably alive because the rifle the shooter was carrying with such a magazine jammed, his mother Ami Strahan told a Senate committee Monday. ‘It has to stop somewhere,’ Ami Strahan said as she sat next to state Attorney General Bob Ferguson in the first panel for the hearing. ‘Common sense gun laws…will save lives.’”
