The Alliance Heads to the Fremont Fair
On June 22nd and 23rd, thousands of people congregated in Fremont for the annual Fremont Fair and Solstice Celebration. Over the weekend, people across the PNW showed their support for the LGBTQIA+ community by marching in parades, participating in a nude bike ride, eating delicious food, and engaging with local artisans, organizations and businesses.
We, along with dozens of organizations, were lined along the street, sharing important resources related to gun violence prevention and registering voters to make sure more GVP champions are in place at every level of our government. Currently, the Alliance is particularly active with spreading information on our Chapter Team program. We are looking to continue building and fostering our chapter teams across Washington. This summer, we will be focusing on Capitol Hill (in Seattle), Yakima, and Spokane. So, if you happen to be in any of these areas and would like to get involved, please reach out to our Advocacy Organizer, Logan Rysemus.
There was strong interest in and overwhelming gratitude for all of the work we accomplished in the past year. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, and we can’t wait to see you this weekend at Seattle Pride!
