The Victory Fund’s goal is to elect local leaders at every level of government who are committed to taking a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to gun violence prevention.
OUTREACH & APPROACH
In 2025, the Alliance Victory Fund did outreach to local and legislative candidates from across the state to participate in our endorsement process if their race meets one of the following criteria:
- Represents a jurisdiction that is important to future implementation work;
- Represents a jurisdiction where we want to build a bench of GVP candidates for future state office;
- School board races where we have capacity and feel our endorsement is important in the specific context;
- A candidate reaches out to us seeking our endorsement.
We invite all candidates from races we are interested in to participate in our endorsement process. We are committed to being a non-partisan organization and intentionally extend the opportunity to everyone seeking elected office. We keep our questionnaire simple, easy and updated every year to reflect our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) guidance. In 2025, the Alliance Victory Fund produced separate questionnaires for candidates running campaigns in Local, LE, Legislative and School Board races.
CRITERIA FOR PRIMARY ENDORSEMENT
Every interview is conducted with at least two Alliance staff members including at least one senior team member. In interviews we go over our work and organizational values including an emphasis on championship, the popular support of our issue and our data-backed solutions.

- Relationship to issue, personal or otherwise
- Importance of race to Alliance agenda/ Potential to Raise GVP in race
